What makes you different from other dog trainers?

A few things. We are commitment-based trainers, which means we charge by the job rather than by the hour. This keeps your training cost low. We are also professional, certified, and fully believe in-home training is the best way to go when it comes to severe canine behavioral problems.

Why is in-home training so beneficial?

Chances are, your dog is most comfortable in his/her everyday environment. When stress is low, we have a better chance of keeping your dog focused on the training. It’s also ideal to train a dog where he/she is experiencing the bulk of the behavioral problems, so we can uncover any behavioral triggers. In-home training also allows you, the owner, to stay 100% involved in the training process.

What if my dog only has light behavior problems?

We can help you one of two ways. We can customize and in-home training program just for you and your dog, or you can sign up for one of our Practical Pet Protocol classes. Practical Pet Protocol is our new series of group classes, designed especially for dogs sixteen weeks and older that are in need of basic obedience lessons.

Why is my involvement so important?

A huge part of our training process involves what we call “proper bonding” between the dog and owner. The dog must learn to focus on you and obey your commands so that he/she will continue to do so even when we step out of the picture. For at least a while, the training must be constant. You must know how to properly execute the techniques in order to keep your dog on track. By the time the program is complete, you’ll know how to properly and effectively communicate with your pet, and he/she will trust and respect you implicitly. Without this connection and commitment, a relapse is inevitable.

Where do you get your ideas about dog training?

All Camelot Dog Training trainers have been certified through the Canine Trade Group School for Canine Professionals. We have spent almost four hundred hours studying training methods, training theory, canine psychology, and canine theory, as well as participating in hands-on training with rescue dogs suffering from various behavioral issues. We’ve all seen these tried and true techniques in action, have performed them ourselves, and proven their effectiveness. We are also members of the International Association of Canine Professionals, which ensures our knowledge of industry is always up to date.
